Join our Trabzon City Tour and explore nearly 4,000 years of history in a structured and time-efficient afternoon program. Starting at 14:00 from Trabzon city center, this guided experience brings together key city highlights shaped by Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman eras, plus panoramic viewpoints and local streets that reveal Trabzon’s everyday rhythm in the Eastern Black Sea region.
Our first stop is the elegant Atatürk Mansion, where Mustafa Kemal Atatürk stayed during his visits to Trabzon. You will visit the interior to see preserved rooms, authentic furnishings, and architectural details that reflect the lifestyle of the early Republican era. After the visit, enjoy a short break in the garden for panoramic views and photos.
We then continue to Trabzon Botanical Garden, the first and only botanical garden in the Black Sea region. Its green landscapes and walking paths offer a calm escape within the city. On the way to the Trabzon City Museum, you will enjoy panoramic views of Trabzon Castle, Gülbahar Hatun Mosque, Zagnos Valley, and the historic Ortahisar district. At the museum, Trabzon’s story unfolds chronologically, connecting ancient trade routes with the city’s multicultural identity.
To experience the living culture of Trabzon, we walk through traditional bazaars including Kunduracılar Street, Semerciler Market, Kemeraltı, and the famous Coppersmith Bazaar. These vibrant streets reflect the city’s long-standing trade tradition and local craftsmanship.
A key highlight of the tour is Hagia Sophia Mosque. Originally built as a Byzantine church, it features unique frescoes that, according to European researchers, show early Renaissance influences. Although the building is currently used as a mosque, its frescoes and pre-conversion architectural elements remain preserved and accessible to visitors.
We conclude at Boztepe Hill, one of the best panoramic viewpoints in the city, overlooking Trabzon and the Black Sea coastline. After enjoying the view, we return to the starting point in the city center. The tour finishes approximately between 18:00 and 19:00, depending on traffic and seasonal conditions.
